What is Reiki?
The Reiki Healing method was developed in the early 1900’s by Dr Mikao Usui who, after a great period of research, learning and spiritual enlightenment, uncovered this energy healing system.
The word Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. Combined, Reiki means “spiritually guided life force energy.”
Reiki healers are conduits for the Universal Life Force Energy, they do not possess magical healing powers from within themselves. Through their attunements by a Reiki Master they are able to access this Universal Life Force Energy and allow it to flow through them to the person receiving the healing.
Reiki is a non-invasive healing treatment and is extremely beneficial in aiding healing alongside modern medicine.
More than one session of Reiki may be required in order to help fully clear your energy body of negative energy. This depends on your specific need and the type of issue.
How Does Reiki Work?
Everything in the universe is comprised of energy. All energy is connected, and so by affecting one type of energy it will impact another. Energy vibrates at different frequencies, and will attract more of the same to it, much like a magnet attracting another magnet.
Our energy force responds to our thoughts and emotions, creating a physiological response to situations, such as a release of cortisol when stressed or dopamine when happy.
Negative emotions and thoughts can lead to an imbalance of negative energy within our energy body. This has a detrimental effect and can lead to energy blockages over time. We will also find that because our energy force is vibrating at a lower frequency due to the negativity, more of the same is drawn to us and we find ourselves in a cycle of negativity.
Using Reiki to channel Universal Life Force Energy to the energy centres within our bodies, we can rebalance our energy centres, allowing for the free flow of positive energy throughout the body and so assist the healing process. In addition, because our energy vibration raises, we attract more positive energy to us and through us.
The Universal Life Force Energy is only ever a positive energy, it cannot and will not cause harm.
Is Reiki only for Humans?
Reiki has many other uses other than for healing a person.
Animals can also be affected by negative energies, which can have a detrimental effect on their health. Reiki on animals assists in their healing and health in the same way it does for humans. As with humans, Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment or medication, always seek veterinary advice for your animals if you feel they are unwell.
Reiki can cleanse the home, personal items and furniture; and can help to raise the vibration of your living space, therefore helping to maintain your own positive energy force.
Providing Reiki healing to your garden can assist with the growing and maintenance of plants.
